ALICE IN
WONDERLAND

Book Wrap Design

This book wrap that I designed for Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite creations! I'm incredibly proud of this design and I think it portrays my ability to play both inside and outside of the lines, using minimalist restraint while simultaneously delivering big art.

I believe this project is a great representation of a design style I call "Maximalist Minimalism", a duality in design I love to play with. Playing into the minimalist side, I restrained design by limiting the color palate and location of graphics. Playing into the Maximalist side, I hand sketched the font on the cover of the book to emulate the psychedelic trip that Alice takes through Wonderland. On the back of the cover, I turned Alice's dress upside down to mimic a teacup  (a little call out to the famous tea party scene) and positioned it as if she was falling down the rabbit hole. All of these factors combined, I believe this creates a well rounded, playful, and engaging design.
